A Plethora of Peculiar Projects- Part 2 of ?

Laying out additional layers of wool...

...and felting with an 'open resist'.

Fulling the piece.

The finished felt bucket (blue side)...

...and (mostly) purple side.

Sewing a lining from PUL (polyurethane laminate).

Pinning the lining into place, prior to sewing.

Despite being unable to serve its original purpose...

...my bucket has found new life...

...as a crafting supply 'catch-all' for my daughter.

Knowing that PUL is often used for lining cloth diaper covers...

...I thought that if I used it as a 'second skin' for my bucket...

...and put it in the dryer awhile (to shrink the stitching holes)...

...I might just end up with a leak-proof bucket!

Alas, PUL is merely water resistant, not waterproof...

...and when filled with water, it leaked. :(

Luckily, my daughter quickly appropriated it for her own use! :)

I'd say your daughter found the perfect use for it. Maybe the next one can be "water-proof." LOL

If it were just the stitching that leaked, I believe there are sewing techniques which would help, but since the basket has found a good home, I suspect there is little point hoping to get it back!

Sandie-I think I'll just purchase one of those collapsible pet bowls for my next felt workshop abroad and call it a day!, :)
Rachel-I'll remember to call on you with questions if I have another 'stitching issue' !!
