Ready for a little snooze in the summer sun?
This hat was created for one particular purpose...
...to wear to the Mad Hatter's Parade at the Felter's Fling last week!
It was my first 'Fling', and it was SO thrilling...
...that I'm really still trying to process all that I saw and learned while I was there!
Unfortunately, due to the disturbing presence of Hurricane Irene...
...we had to cut our week a bit short...
...but there will still be plenty of wonderful photos to share in the week ahead!!
P.S. My hat won one of the many prizes...
...in the category of "Most Ridiculous Hat" (or something like that)!!! Giggle.

oh heather, it's not the most rediculous hat but the most story telling hat! you can fill an evening talking about the things you could do on your hat:)
chapeau!!!!!!!
Oh, Riet--You are so cute!! XXO-
Super Sassy and Super Fun! You totally took the spirit of the event and went with it. I would have totally went the conservative route and I LOVE that you didn't. Looking forward to more photos of your fun...and glad that you made it home safe.
As I was scrolling down each picture my smile got bigger and bigger! A swing! A hammock! How fun!!! LOVE it!
Andrea--Yes, I really took the "Mad" part to heart, didn't I??
:)
Kelly--I'm glad it made you smile!
All the additional details really make it come to life - well done!
Thanks, Rachel!
Heather....you made a wonderful piece of mad art!! A little elf would be very happy to live in your hat and have a great summer! hugzz.. peebee
The hat is so funny! I would never wear it, but I do think it is a piece of art ;))) Can I come and play on it?
Peebee--An elf! Yes!!! :)
Mattie--Yes, come anytime for a visit!!!! After one wearing, it is now consigned to a shelf in the studio. I can't think of anywhere I'd wear it again, either! Giggle.
I also keep grinning as I looked at the pix! What a fun and marvelous "Mad Hat"; also looking forward to hearing more about the fling when you process it!
Thanks, Ginny! The idea was to make people smile (or maybe laugh at me a bit?!?!). Giggle.
I am just in awe of it -- so creative and fun, and (of course) beautifully made. Will you grow tired of me telling you that you are a genius?
Mary--You are way too kind (and a very sweet friend!). It was a truly silly hat. I looked like a Martian in it! Everyone at 'Fling' just laughed and shook their heads when they saw me! It was still really embarrassing to wear, but I do think the other felters 'got it'. :)
Most excellent! ;-)
And a fabulous hat it is too :) Congrats on the prize! Sorry your fling was cut short.. hope the hurricane didnt cause too many probs for you..
Im glad that you enjoyed the time that you were there & look forward to the pics

Janee--Hahaha...you and I share the same offbeat sensibility methinks! :)
haha! This is fantastic. I want to get in the deckchair but you'd need a neck brace!
