Spain and Scotland 2016- Part 4 (Museo Picasso Málaga)

After a menu del dia...

...at the atmospheric El Pimpi restaurant...

...we popped into the Picasso Museum...

...with its scrumptious carved wooden ceilings...

                                                    ...and lovely courtyard...

...to see a traveling exhibit on Jackson Pollock.

On view were his early influences...

                                                       ...works by Warhol...

                                                                 ...Seliger...

                                                             ...Motherwell...

                                                                  ...Matta...

                                                  ...and his wife, Lee Krasner.

A small collection of Pollock's own works completes the exhibit...

                                            ...which culminates with a mural...

                                        ...commissioned by Peggy Guggenheim...

...and a filmstrip of the artist (who died, sadly, at only 44 years of age)...

...painting on glass in his signature kinetic fashion.

We ended the day in the main shopping district of Malaga...

...where we treated ourselves to wonderful homemade ice cream.

Mine was dulce de leche!! (Yum!)

Next time: a bit of felting!

Rachel- Sandy ordered a hazelnut ice cream that nearly made us weep with joy!! Spain ranks up there with Italy for wonderful frozen confections!!
