"Stack and Snip" Table Topper Variations- Part 1 of 3

Stacking four different colors of commercial pre-felt...


                                       ...and cutting them into irregular segments.



                                  Laying out two layers of each color into a pattern...



                                                     ...and wetting them out.



                                    Layers of lavender wool are added from a batt...

                                     ...and the project is flipped back to side one...

                            ...in order to check the position of each pre-felt snippet.



                                     The topper is trimmed into an irregular shape...

                                        ...following the curves of the colored bits.



                                                 Felting and fulling the topper.



                                                The finished project, drying.



                                                     A bit of hand embroidery...



                                              ...around selected segments, only...



                                      ...outlines and demarcates the color sections.



                                                         The finished piece.



                                Next time: more of the colored pre-felt snippets are used...

                                               ...to make a 'leaf' table topper!
